Crosshatch Lace knit Flat

Crosshatch stitch knit flat.

There has been a discussion about this pattern which was written to knit in the round. There are images on pinterest. I have added the written instructions here.

This is the stitch pattern written to knit flat. You need a multiple of 6 stitches.

1: *K3, k2tog, yo, k1; repeat from * to end.

2: *P2, yo, p2tog, p2; repeat from * to end.

3: * K1, k2tog, yo, k3; repeat from * to end.

4:  *P4, yo, p2tog; repeat from * to end.

5: *K1, yo, ssk2tog tbl, k3; repeat from * to end.

6:  *P2, ssp tbl, yo, p2; repeat from * to end.

7: *K3, yo, ssk2tog tbl, k1; repeat from * to end.

8:  *Ssp tbl, yo, p4; repeat from * to end.

Abbreviations:

Co: cast on.

Bo: bind off.

St-stitch: Sts- stitches

k: knit

p: purl

yo: yarn over

k2 tog: Knit two stitches together as one stitch.

ssk2tog tbl: Slip, slip, knit, slip 2 sts knitwise and knit them together through back loop.

Ssp tbl: Slip, slip, purl, slip 2 sts knitwise and purl them together through back loop.

So tired recently. Seems everything is going wrong. I know I am neglecting this blog but just don't seem to have the energy to update. Life has been tough and various problems are around.
Tired, just tired.

One Month

One month today. Strange how life goes on. Strange just how much it means to me. Too much pain, not understood. I still have the thing that I think I must tell her this that and the other. When we are so far apart it just doesn't seem real. 
I think of how it would have been here, so quick, then a church service today, the ricordini, flowers....nothing. No news, just nothing, just  vuoto, nulla.
I can only try to come to terms with this alone, as usual, alone. Always alone.

No one understands. No one can understand.

Palm Sunday

 These are a few photos of the Palm Sunday procession in the village.

It is an old tradition that on Palm Sunday people in the village decorate olive branches and take them from the old church to the calvario and then to the main church in procession before celebrating the Mass. 

In olden days they had soppressata and small bottles of wine hung on them. Little decorative provola cheese and sweet cuzzupa.

 Nowadays there are chocolate eggs and sweets but a few people still do follow the old way.
This is a tradition which has died out in many of the local villages. Fortunately the new priest has maintained it here.

AltGr key failure

6 am on February 29th and I just had to finally find time to write! Leap year doesn't come every year! 

I have had some computer problems recently. All of a sudden the key on my laptop keyboard wouldn't let me do the "@" sign. I realised when trying to add my e-mail to something I was writing. 

I thought maybe it was just something temporary but then a few days later I discovered I couldn't do the square brackets either! I got a bit worried. On this computer for those symbols I need to press the AltGr key and the one where the symbol shows. It is an italian keyboard.

At first I thought it was the key itself not working, maybe dirty, but then found I could use it correctly while writing with my word program.

I talked to computer expert son who said he would take a look when he came over and that it would probably just correct itself.

 Short long story is he still hasn't had time to come over and as I know he is very busy I don't like to bother him by insisting or taking my computer to him. 

So my research online started: Nada. I also asked on Ravelry, my go to place for any and all problems not just knitting, but even there didn't find an answer. 

I did find that a lot of people seemed to have the same problem and couldn't resolve it! Someone said to check "hot keys". Sure if I knew what they are and how they work! I am always scared to make changes in case I do something wrong.
I did realise it was possibly the English keyboard being selected instead of my Italian one but even though it was now only in Italian the thing still didn't work!

Windows updates came and went and the problem continued. In the meantime I got by using copy and paste!

Then a light of genius hit me! (Lol) I was trying to work out what it was and decided to update my Google Chrome setting. That was the answer! Now the thing works again! 

In the middle of so many updates and reset and checking for virus it was only the Chrome refresh that was needed! Lol! Now I am happy.

In the midst of all this I have also finally learnt how to do those curly brackets on here: shift, AltGr and the key with the symbol. { }.
