Ellowyne Wilde Summer Madness.

Summer has arrived and I have finally been doing a little bit of sewing. 
There was a sew-along on the Ravelry Ellowyne group using a free pattern: Holiday Madness. 

She always looks so dramatic! No simple dresses for her!

Even with a simple dress she looks special.

I sewed it as for pattern and then as my Ellowyne is such a drama queen I added a ruffle to the hem! I think she looks lovely! (and so does she! Lol!)

Now to get sewing some things for my other dolls so I brush up my sewing knowhow. I feel I have forgotten all I ever knew!

Lacy Shrug for 13-16 inch dolls

Lacy Shrug:

Notions:

lace weight yarn.

Needles: US 0/ 2mm. (or those you need to obtain gauge)

Darning needle.

Stitch markers or waste yarn.

Difficulty:

Gauge: 8 sts x 16 rows = 1 inch. In garter stitch

Garter stitch section is 4”.

Width is 8”.

Abbreviations:

Co: cast on.

Bo: bind off.

K: knit

St-stitch: Sts- stitches

K2 tog: Knit two stitches together as one stitch.

K3 tog: Knit three stitches together as one stitch.

Double yo: double yarn over. Wrap yarn twice around needle. This stitch will be knit as one stitch through one yo on following row. It only gives a slightly bigger yo for a lacier effect.

Stitch count varies from row to row. You should have 60sts again after row 20. (Counting double yo as one stitch!)

Cast on 60sts.

1: K2, double yo, k2tog, k3; turn.

2: K7.

3: K1, k2tog, double yo, k2tog, k3, k2tog, double yo, k1, k2tog, double yo, k47.

4: K2, double yo, k2tog, k3; turn.

5: K7.

6: K1, k2tog, double yo, k2tog, k3, k2tog, double yo, k1, k2tog, double yo, k46.

7: K1, k2tog, double yo, k2tog, k1, k2tog, double yo, k1, k2tog, double yo, k47.

8: K1, k2tog, double yo, k2tog, k1, k2tog, double yo, k1, k2tog, double yo, k46.

9: K1, k2tog, double yo, k3tog, double yo, k1, k2tog, double yo, k2; turn.

10: K10.

11: K2, double yo, k1, double yo, k2tog, k1, double yo, k2tog, k47.

12: K1, k2tog, double yo, k3tog, double yo, k1, k2tog, double yo, k2; turn.

13: K10.

14: K2, double yo, k1, double yo, k2tog, k1, double yo, k2tog, k47.

15: K2, double yo, k3, double yo, k2tog, k1, double yo, k2tog; turn.

16: K11.

17: K2, double yo, k5, double yo, k2tog, k1, double yo, k2tog, k45.

18: K2, double yo, k3, double yo, k2tog, k1, double yo, k2tog; turn.

19: K11.

20: K2, double yo, k5, double yo, k2tog, k1, double yo, k2tog, k47.

Repeat rows 1-20 for a total of 8 times.

Knit one row. (60 sts).

Bind off loosely.

Sew lace edges together. I used a simple overcast stitch. Look at photo. The same row is joined start and end forming arm opening.

So tired recently. Seems everything is going wrong. I know I am neglecting this blog but just don't seem to have the energy to update. Life has been tough and various problems are around.

Ellowyne Wilde dolls are such lovely models. Really fun to knit for.

Konmari clothes folding.

Well you may be wondering what I have been up to recently.

 I have been diligently refolding clothes in the bedroom drawers! 

 There is actually more room with the same amount of clothes in them!

I can't say I have thrown many things. I am not going to properly start on the clothes until my weight stabilizes. At the moment I am fairly near my ideal weight so some things no longer fit and some still don't fit me but I hope they soon will! 

In the meantime I have tidied a fair bit. I just love the Konmari method of folding clothes and the ease of finding what you want in the drawer. 

It was so nice when my neatfreak DD commented that she wants her room as tidy as mine is! 

I did some of the dining room ones as well, and also tidied out a cupboard.

While I don't think I will ever become a minimalist, KonMari does have lots of good ideas. I am curious to see how she copes now she has a child as well. We can probably expect a new book on how to organise life with a baby! Lol.

I haven't had much knitting time between schoolwork and housework but am working on an outfit for my Ellowyne doll. Isn't she just beautiful?

Wispy Rose.

My present to myself this Christmas was a Wilde Imagination doll.

To me she was very expensive at her original price of 190$ but I was lucky to buy her at sale price for 99$. New from the producers shipped directly here it was a lovely change from the American Girl dolls who won't ship to Italy!

I had been searching for a while for a pre-loved one at a price I could afford. Someone on Ravelry sent me a message telling me there was a warehouse sale and I was lucky enough to get one. They sold out within hours! 
There were actually a couple of dolls even cheaper but I fell in love with her so was willing to pay a little bit more. A limited edition of 200 dolls. Now I see just her dress selling on E-bay for as much as I paid for her!

She has such a serene expression. I am looking forward to designing clothes for her. As usual all suggestions are welcome!

This is my first quick attempt at making her something to wear! I just had to make her something even though it was the Christmas season and I was very busy! She arrived on January 5th, just in time for the Befana! 

I quicky crocheted her a dress so I could put her meet dress away safely. Her necklace and bracelet I never put on as my DD didn't like them.

A matching hat and bag and she is all set to go!

Although it is hard to see on the photo it has small beads sewn all along the hem and at neck and arms. The bag handle is made from the same beads.
