Ellowyne Wilde Summer Madness.

Summer has arrived and I have finally been doing a little bit of sewing.
There was a sew-along on the Ravelry Ellowyne group using a free pattern: Holiday Madness.

She always looks so dramatic! No simple dresses for her!

Holiday Madness dress

Even with a simple dress she looks special.

Summer Madness dress

I sewed it as for pattern and then as my Ellowyne is such a drama queen I added a ruffle to the hem! I think she looks lovely! (and so does she! Lol!)

Now to get sewing some things for my other dolls so I brush up my sewing knowhow. I feel I have forgotten all I ever knew!

I hope to show some other clothes soon!

Springing into Summer...

It is that time of the year. We just don't what season it is supposed to be any more. However the plants are doing what they think they should and nature is going on, doing its own thing.

Flowers all around before the summer heat dries everything out. I just wanted to share a few photos:

The magic of the olive flowers trapped in a spider web. They look so like stars!

A special thought goes to my Bil Antonio as these are Gigli di Sant'Antonio which he and his wife planted in front of their beautiful house.

Greetings and enjoy Spring!

Kathy Shawl

A friend Kate sent me a book where there were the instructions to make Elizabeth Zimmerman's Pi shawl. Based on this idea of increasing stitches every few rows  I made this shawl thinking of her.

Remembrance

Today is doubly sad to me. It was a sad anniversary already but also a very dear online friend has left us today. She had been suffering for a while.

She testknit some of my designs and we had many things in common. Our love for dolls and knitting as well.

I had recently made a mini doll shawl based on a pattern in a book she gifted me. Now I am working on a big version with thoughts of her worked into every stitch. I knew this was coming but didn't think it would be so soon.

I will miss you Kate, my dear friend.
